This animation shows how the raccoon's trail pattern is made. Front and hind prints end up paired side-by-side. The right front foot moves forward, followed by the right hind foot.Then, the left front foot moves forward, followed by the left rear foot. The distance between pairs of tracks is about 10 or 11 inches.
