| Millipedes move over land very easily and you can find their trails if you have soft substrate. I've even found millipede tracks in silty mud! |

The trail on the right was made by a millipede. On the left is a beetle trail. Millipede tracks look like long parallel lines. They sort of resemble railroad tracks! It's very difficult to make out individual footprints in millipede trails since their feet as so small! Plus, the back feet always walk over the tracks made by the front feet, so the lines you see are the most common sort of track found in the field from this species. |

| These are millipede scats. This latrine accummulation was found inside a rotting log. The millipede had been there long enough to make quite a mound of scats! |

| Millipede scat is smaller than that of rabbits and larger than that os mice. It is smaller than rat scats, and not as long. The individual pieces of millipede scat resemble elongated pill shapes with blunt or rounded ends. |

| Scat accummulations like this can be found under old logs, inside rotting logs, and under forest debris, all places where you can find the millipedes themselves. |
