Brush rabbit scats found in one of its runs. Brush rabbits produce two kinds of scat. One is the dry one you see here. The other is moist and still has nutrients remaining in it. These scats are re-ingested and passed through the digestive system again. This is called coprophagy. Many rabbit species do this. For those living in climates where it is difficult to find food easily, this is a way of adapting to the conditions of their environment.
